Cambridge Wedding Photographer – Elizabeth and Stelios -Longstowe Hall

Elizabeth and Stelios met while they were studying at Corpus Crisit College in Cambridge, 5 years ago, and it holds lots of special memories for them. So it will come as no surprise that they chose to have their ceremony at the breath taking Corpus Cristi College chapel. There is a beautiful gold clock outside the college, it’s very unusual and if you are ever in Cambridge I urge you to pop along and have a closer look.

Stelios’s friends and family had come over from Cyprus for the big day and were treated to some of Cambridge’s most stunning sights as well a lovely afternoon tea in the college grounds.

We then all moved onto the absolutely jaw dropping Longstowe Hall. Without doubt the gardens at Longstoweare some of the most breathtaking gardens of any wedding venue I have seen. There the relaxed wedding reception got into full swing. The speeches were tear jerkers like I have never heard before, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house! Elizabeth’s dad had learnt a speech, off by heart, in Greek, for Stelios’ family and although I have no idea what was being said, the passion and ease with which he delivered it brought a tear to my eye. Afterwards the party really started with lots of dancing, sadly they saved the Greek dancing until after we had left, but I hear it was a rather fabulous demonstration.

Elizabeth wore a pre season Alan Hannah wedding dress, that was customised with a delicious coffee coloured sash.

I was thrilled to be joined by the amazing James Pearson as second photographer. Thank you James for all your hard work and great images.

Cambridge Wedding Photographer – Claire and Dave – The Maltings, Ely

I’m a bit behind with my blogging so Claire and Dave’s June Wedding is a little late to the appear.

Claire and Dave have been together for 11 years and wanted to have a nice relaxed day with close family and friends, and that’s exactly what they achieved at The Maltings in Ely.

After a lovely personal service they shared champagne with their guests in the lovely sunshine along the river bank and with an excellent band danced the night away.

Here are a few of my favourite images from their day:

Essex Wedding Photography – Carley and Ian – Hempstead

I’d been looking forward to Carley and Ian’s intimate country village wedding for months and we’d been having fantastic weather so I was really excited to wake up on their wedding day with the sun out. But Mother nature decided to turn the weather inside out on that day, we had glorious sunshine one minute and then horrendous showers another, that seemed to come from no where, plus temperatures that where more reminiscent of March than June. Despite all this, the wedding was a beautiful day and we managed to dodge the rain for all the lovely outdoor elements of the day, including the parade through the village from the church.

Here are some of my favourites from the day.

When I pulled up at Carley’s Mum and Dad’s house I was greeted by a a very happy bride peeping out the window.

Carley had chosen some lovely boots and all the village had given their sweet peas for decorating the church and The Bluebell Inn, Carley had a few left over in her room. What a gorgeous smell.

I was sat having a lovely lunch that Carley’s mum had made from the salad she had grown in the garden when a door opened and I caught sight of this lovely candle holder and thought of those lovely boots again!

These two can make each other laugh with just a look, a sign of a really close friendship.

A special moment between mother and daughter.

Ian’s son Ben was in charge of handing out the order of service and that included to the vicar.

The first look at his beautiful bride.

No pictures were allowed during the service, but the happy couple bounced down the aisle with huge smiles.

The Bluebell Inn is a very special place for Ian and Carley, it’s where they met and it’s where they spend a lot of time with their musician friends. Rod the best man is also the landlord. Now here is a little piece of history for you. The Bluebell Inn is the birth place of Dick Turpin and if you want to find out all about him you need to pop inside enjoy a pint and read all about his life on the walls.

Ian and Carley are accomplished musicians and wanted to kick off the evening party themselves. It was amazing to see so many friends and family joining in, and just fabulous to see a tea chest and the spoons being played so brilliantly!

Ian and Carley thank you for letting me share in your special day, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and music together.

Cambridge Wedding Photographer – The Temple – Kelly and Ben

You may recall at the end of May we had a couple of weeks of absolutely gorgeous weather and I think Kelly and Ben’s wedding was the hottest day by far. Not a cloud graced the sky all day and with a south facing venue and gardens, it made for a wonderful summers day wedding at the The Temple.

Kelly and Ben had planned a really relaxed wedding, centered around the lovely gardens at The Temple, with plenty of time to mix and mingle with their guests and for everyone to have drinks on the lawns.

With glorious sunshine and a beautiful apple tree outside we decided to have a little fun with the dress and shoes and hang them in the tree. This also afforded us a little shade, as the sun shining was so brightly everywhere.

Kelly got her lovely Maggie Sottero dress from Fleur De Lys Bridal in Saffron Walden

Kelly wore her grandmothers pearls.

These beautiful flowers were made by a friend and they were absolutely stunning, smelt delicious and lasted all day!

Ben’s wedding ring is extra special as the gold band was actually his dad’s wedding ring.

Two best men, who each gave a fabulous speech, were there to support Ben.

Ben’s not keen on America’s next top model but we told him watching it would come in handy, so we had a little fun with some portraits.

And then we had some more fun..

The Speeches were really special, full of gorgeous sentiments as well as humour.

Ooh and then we had the funkiest dance moves I have ever seen….. can you move your legs like this?

It was a really great day, fabulous weather and fabulous people. Thank you Kelly and Ben for letting me capture your day, it was great fun.

Michelle and Jamie Wedding Photos – Langdon Registry office, Hornchurch

Jamie and Michelle have now seen all their images, so I can post a few more here on the blog. You may recall they got married in May, at Langdons Registry office. The venue has really special meaning to the family as it’s where Michelle’s parents got married and so it made for a really emotional ceremony. The grounds are absolutely stunning at Langdons Registry office and we made full use of the stunning bluebells that were everywhere.

Behind that door is this beautiful surprise entrance hall, you don’t find many like this!

The two little bridesmaid’s didn’t want to stand for their photos but preferred to lounge around in the sun.

At the pre-wedding shoot 4 weeks before, Jamie was able to get his hands around the baby bump, boy those babies grow quick as he couldn’t get anywhere close on the wedding day!

This tree is very special, Michelle’s Mum sat in the tree for some of her wedding pictures, but we decided maybe not the best idea to be manhandling Michelle up into the tree so we did our own version.

Wedding Photography Preview – Kelly and Ben

I think the whole country had a heat wave on Saturday and Kelly and Ben’s Wedding in Cambridge was no exception. The Temple is a lovely intimate venue, where the grounds get the sun ALL day and evening!

This sneaky peek was taken at 7.30pm and as you can see the sun was still ever present!

Kelly and Ben are off to Thailand for a couple of weeks, I hope you both have an amazing time, I can’t wait to show you the rest of your images when you get back.

Pre Wedding Shoot – Carley and Ian

Carley and Ian are planning a very intimate country village wedding in June, including a precession for the church through the village with a world famous accordian player. Both fantastic muscians themselves these two are planning some really special and different treats for their guests on the wedding day, and I for one am really excited.

We caught up on all their plans and had sometime for camera action too.

McKenna Family Lifestyle Portraits – Saffron Walden

I often give lifestyle portrait shoots as prizes for local charity events and last year I gave a session to 33 Engineer Regiment for one of their many charity fundraising events.

Tina and her family were the lucky winners, but it’s only recently that we have been able to get together, and we picked a fantastic sunny Sunday afternoon for their portraits!

They chose a location which is new for me, a lovely walk which starts at Debden Church and goes through the fields over a small lake and along the way contains lots of lovely locations for some fun portraits. It was so lovely and as it’s close to home it will be a great new walk for me to take Lily over the summer.
