I’m a bit behind with my blogging and so it was a couple of weeks ago that I had the most amazing afternoon with Anthea and Hector, walking around Cambridge shooting their engagement pictures.
We’d had to postpone the shoot the week before because of all the snow, and as Hector is working overseas in Japan we had to get them in before he flew back. With all their wedding planning commitments it meant that we had to play in the rain, but that didn’t stop the fun. It’s likely Hector won’t be working in the area again for sometime, so it was important to them that we captured Cambridge in the images as it’s where they met and holds lots of special memories.
These two are so in Love it makes me smile from inside out and then some. They were up for whatever I suggested and that meant lots of laughter and great images.
Rather than post 100’s of images, because I just can’t choose today, which would keep you scrolling down for ever, I am trying out some new formats so that I can show you lots of the fun we had, in shorter posts, let me know what you think and leave a comment.
First off, we had a little romance, Romeo and Juliet style, to set the tone of the day. Of course as it’s Cambridge we didn’t have to wait long to get a cyclist in it either. Well it wouldn’t be Cambridge without one!

This blocked up old window in the wall of Kings College made a lovely seat to shelter from the rain.

Anthea is great fun to work with as she’s not afraid to give it some attitude, and I get the feeling from this photo that Hector has seen it all before, so it doesn’t wash anymore!

We made sure that we included plenty of the stunning architecture of Cambridge, so that they would have a real record of this stunning city.

I just fell in love with the patterns and shades of the wall in this archway. As as it was dry, we able to get coats off and capture the stunning purples against that beautiful old wall.
These are my favourites from the day!

And finally, Anthea had fun giving some attitude against a nice wrought iron gate, and whilst I think Anthea is fierce in hers, Hector had me in stitches when he asked for a go at looking that good, see for yourselves.

Anthea and Hector, thank you for a great afternoon in the rain, I can’t wait for your wedding in January 2011.

A couple of weeks ago I met up with Julie and Robert at the Stunning Gaynes Park wedding venue for their engagement shoot.
Julie and Robert are getting married at Gaynes Park at the end of September and this was a great chance for us to explore this lovely intimate venue and for me to catch up with them both on all the details for their day. I never tire of hearing all about everyone’s plans for their big day, it’s always exciting and new as each couple have their own ideas for making it a special day.
The gardens at the venue are in full bloom and the sun was high in the sky, I can’t wait to shoot their wedding here, so without further ado here are a few images from the session:

Last Thursday I spent the afternoon, down by the river in St Neots, with Pat and Neil.
Pat and Neil are both music teachers and are planning a small intimate wedding in August. Neil’s dad is the pastor at the church where they are getting married and he’ll be officiating the ceremony that day, so it’s going to be a really special ceremony.
Pat gave me free reign to be creative with the her photos, and present her with something different. Here are some of my favourites:

Last weekend I travelled to Somerset to meet up with my brother and his fiancee Maja.
Toby and Maja are getting married in September, in Gdansk, Poland. From the pictures I have seen on line it’s a stunning old city, and the in side of the church jaw dropping.
It promises to be a great day and I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding pictures, although my Polish needs some extreme work before then!
Talking to Maja last week, I learnt a lot about weddings in Poland. They seem to start very late in the day, and go on all night! Some of the key celebrations taking place after midnight so I am sure it’s going to be a great night.
My brother is like me – not keen on being in front of the camera, so we spent lots of time messing about, another thing that happens when we get together. We did however manage to get some great shots and these are just some of my favourites:

I love the sun and vintage feel to this one! My Favourite!

In complete contrast to Thursdays wedding, the sun was out brightly on Saturday for Emma and James’ engagement photos.
We made the best use of the fine weather and took Megan, Charlie and Dexter the dog to the park in Ely. What an amazing park area for kids, they could lose hours in there! (I could have lost hours there, all the play equipment was big enough for the big kids too!)
Emma and James are getting married in August and I am really excited to be shooting their wedding. It promises to be a really close intimate family day.
Here are some of my favourites from the weekend:
First Megan in action

And Charlie, eyes full of mischief

Not forgetting Dexter

And finally, but by no means least, Emma and James
Some high key love

Bright green grass

and finally just somewhere far away
